Primary School (CL)

By the time a passage of scripture becomes very familiar it has been analyzed and interpreted so often that you can have as many ideas attached to that passage as barnacles on an ocean pier. Pretty soon it’s easy to lose sight of the most important theme or purpose of the passage. The “Primary School” technique is simply the habit of remembering to ask of every part of the passage, “Is this the primary or just a secondary matter?”
